2004 Newton The Puzzle

This long-time estate situated on the lower slopes of Spring Mountain has produced a delicious blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot that reflects the European orientation of proprietress Sue Hua Newton. A beautifully elegant yet authoritatively rich red, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with notes of black currants, Asian spice, forest floor, earth and a hint of truffles. Combining elegance with power as well as finesse with Napa’s extravagant richness, this medium to full-bodied, impressively endowed, youthful but promising beauty can be drunk now or cellared for two more decades.
