Disgorged in July 2017, the 2008 Brut Premier Cru Or is a pretty, precise wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of lemon zest, crisp green and yellow apples, white flowers and chalky soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, bright and racy, with a nicely concentrated core of fruit, an ultra-fine mousse and a bright, mineral finish. It's a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

The 2008 Brut Vintage Or is relatively open and accessible wine for the year. There is good depth to the dried pear, candied citrus and floral notes, but it is without question the resonance of Ay that carries the wine. Hints of graphite, smoke and slate add lovely underpinnings of minerality. The Vintage is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2017.
