The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Rockfall, matured for 19 months in 42% new oak, is scented of blackcurrant, green pepper, tobacco, violet and cigar ash, striking a compelling balance of fruit, floral perfume and notes of maturity. The medium-bodied palate is equally vibrant, offering concentrated flavors of blueberry and botanicals. Its powerful, grainy tannins have begun to soften, bringing its juicy acidity to the fore, which complements its surprisingly youthful fruit. This is right at its peak! 700 cases were made.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Rockfall, emerges from a block of old vines at the top of Stonestreet's Alexander Mountain estate. Iron, flowers, dark red fruit, mint and graphite all take shape in the glass. This is a pretty wine, but it appears to lack mid-palate depth and structure.
