Note di degustazione
Good bright dark red. High-toned aromas of raspberry liqueur and coffee. Lush and creamy but less perceptibly sweet than the Black Chicken, showing more minerality and spice in the mouth and an impression of firm acidity. The flavors of redcurrant and wild strawberry are still a bit tightly wound today. Finishes firm-edged and serious, with a slight tart berry character.

There are 400 cases of the 2004 Zinfandel from the famed Monte Rosso vineyard now owned by Gallo. Its deep plum/ruby/purple color is accompanied by a huge nose of jammy black cherries intermixed with black currants, smoke, underbrush, and spice. A soft, fleshy, opulent, full-bodied, powerful (16.7% alcohol), glycerin-filled wine, this big, well-balanced, large-scaled Zinfandel should be consumed over the next decade. Tel. (707) 257-7555
