Note di degustazione
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru is very reduced on the nose and not as clean as I would like, coming across a little funky. The medium-bodied palate offers chewy tannins and good weight. Quite muscular, with raspberry and cranberry notes toward the slightly austere, Morey-like finish, which leaves a pleasant peppery aftertaste. I would afford this three years in bottle before broaching, because it could coalesce into a very fine Chambolle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru comes from a parcel of 80-year-old vines, containing 25% whole bunch fruit and matured in 75% new oak. The bouquet is completely different from Les Hauts Doix, displaying more density, darker fruit, more substance and a less airy style, but still very pure and detailed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. There is plenty of lightly spiced black fruit, gentle grip, an appealing sense of symmetry and a longer tail on the finish than the Les Haut Doix. Superb.
