2020 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay Savoir Faire

As this lot remains in barrel for five months longer than the regular bottling, the 2020 Chardonnay Savoir Faire—again, a single selected 500-liter puncheon from Block 33 (45 cases)—was yet to be bottled when I visited at the start of the year. Despite coming from the same block and using the same cooper, the wine is a bit different from the 2019, offering more lime and tropical fruit notes on the nose. It's full-bodied but maybe not quite as rich, with a trace of warmth perceptible on the finish.
