2019 Carlisle Alicante Bouschet

The 2019 Alicante Bouschet Pagani Ranch is one of the most compelling wines I have tasted in some time. Inky, deep and virile to its core, the Pagani Alicante is simply dazzling. Red/purplish berry fruit, rose petal, lavender and dried herbs all lend complexity. In 2019, where the wines are on the richer side, the natural vibrancy and late-ripening character of Alicante is hugely appealing. The balance here is unreal, as this tastes like Alicante and also like Pagani.
