A blend of 76% Syrah and 24% Mourvèdre, the deep ruby-purple colored 2017 Syrah Sonoma County features white chocolate, olive, blackcurrant, baked blackberries and black cherries aromas with touches of graphite, iron, dried violets and grilled beef. Full-bodied, boldly fruited and sanguine in the mouth, it has firm, pleasantly chewy tannins and just enough freshness to counter, finishing long. This needs more time in bottle for sure. 265 cases produced.

A wine that goes screaming off the value chart is the 2017 Syrah Sonoma County. This beauty will stand up to plenty of the Central Coast gems out there that go for 4-5 times the price. Deep purple-colored with a brilliant bouquet of blackberries, ground pepper, chocolate, and a kiss of smoked earth, it hits the palate with medium to full body, a layered, seamless texture, and awesome purity of fruit. It’s one of those wines where you just have to pretend you paid more. Drink it any time over the coming 10-15 years.
The 2017 Syrah (Sonoma County) is a stellar wine. Bold, punchy and full of flavor, the Sonoma Coast Syrah has so much to offer. A rush of dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, black pepper and spice all run through this juicy, super-expressive Syrah. Fruit sources are as good as it gets. Even better, Carlisle's Sonoma County Syrah is a stunning value. Make that a ridiculous value.
