A rich, full-bodied Cabernet, it has a supple, rounded mouthfeel, ripe, silky tannins, and a more soft, plush style than what's common in the vintage. Nevertheless, it gains freshness and elegance as it sits in glass and is just a complex, balanced, satisfying 2018 to enjoy over the coming two decades.

There is plenty of depth and intensity, yet the Georges III is one of the more accessible of the single-vineyard offerings. Dark cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice, iron and scorched earth give the 2018 all of that savory complexity that is typical of this sector of Rutherford.
