Checking in on the 2007 Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard, it's fully mature, garnet colored and scented of saline, leather, cured meats and olive with touches of mossy bark, mushroom, dried herbs and a core of dried black fruits. The palate is light and silky with mature flavors, retaining good freshness and finishing mineral driven. If you have any of this in your cellar, it's about time to drink up. Cristom started adding fruit from younger vines to the blend in 2013, so this was made entirely from the original own-rooted vines planted in 1982. It was made with about 46% whole clusters and aged 18 months in 56% new Burgundian barrels before being bottled. 662 cases were made.

Vivid red. Sexy aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and spicecake, with slow-building florality and a hint of woodsmoke. Lively, incisive red fruit flavors are complemented by a note of cherry skin and pick up hints of star anise and cinnamon with air. The finish repeats the red fruit element and lingers with lively spices. I suspect that this will age on its balance but it's already pretty complex.
