Bright, dark red. Musky raspberry, mocha and minerals on the inviting nose and palate. Sappy, charming Chambolle with harmonious acidity and well-judged extraction. The persistent finish shows good floral lift and a light gamey nuance. Dusty tannins call for a couple years of cellaring.

Full medium red. Shows darker fruits on the complex, inviting nose than the Groseilles, along with notes of pungent musky minerality and dried flowers. A step up in intensity and verve, with its sweet raspberry and floral flavors framed by a firm spine of acidity and minerality. Still youthfully imploded, this premier cru finishes with excellent sappy grip and rising length. Slightly tough tannins call for patience.
The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny les Charmes 1er Cru has a lively, vivacious bouquet with red currant jam, fresh strawberries and black plum aromas, perhaps even with a hint of black truffle (unusual at this early stage.) The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and well-judged acidity. This feels sappy in the mouth and very cohesive toward the sensual finish. Very fine. There is impressive substance here.
