Note di degustazione
There a little under 200 cases of the 2016 Pinot Noir Harper's Rest Estate Vineyard and it was 100% destemmed saw and close to a year in 40% new French oak. It has a unique style in its smoked red and black fruits, spring flowers, earth, and serious mineral-laced aromas and flavors. More medium-bodied, fresh, focused, and structured on the plate, with plenty of tannins, it's a rocking wine that has a more Burgundian slant than the other cuvées here. It needs to be forgotten for 2-3 years and should keep for 10-15 years. This comes from a vineyard just beside the estate and was planted in 2006 all to Pommard clone.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Harper's Rest is dark, powerful and bombastic, with notable depth and intensity. A burst of black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, leather and game runs through this potent, deep Pinot, but the oak and extraction feel overdone.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Harper's Rest Estate has a very pretty, perfumed nose: dried violet, lilac and potpourri, crushed stone, dusty earth and black tea with briary black fruits plus smoky, meaty hints. Medium to full-bodied, it offers dense black fruits in the mouth with savory accents, firmly framed by grainy tannins and just enough freshness to carry all that denseness of flavor. 181 cases were made.
