Note di degustazione
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Policy Estate Vineyard is rich, ample and resonant in the glass. Ripe dark cherry/plum fruit, espresso, rose petal and blood orange build effortlessly through the mid-palate and into the finish. This potent, layered Cabernet Sauvignon shows all the natural intensity of a year marked by intense drought. It's a big wine that needs time to shed some of its baby fat.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Policy Vineyard, which is all Clone 7 from a site in Yountville, has classic Cabernet character in its spring flowers, darker fruits, cedar pencil, and herbal notes. These all carry to a medium to full-bodied, round, supple, elegant wine with plenty of underlying structure as well as terrific underlying concentration. This straight-up classy, balanced, impressive 2021 is going to benefit from 4-5 years in the cellar and, I have no doubt, evolve for 20 years.
Another fine effort from Pulido-Walker and consultant Thomas Rivers Brown is the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Policy Estate Vineyard, from a Yountville site farmed by Jim Barbour. Black cherries, dark chocolate and hints of mocha and cedar come together harmoniously on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is nicely silky and refined, finishing long and elegant.
