Note di degustazione
The 2012 Grenache, which incorporates 9% Syrah and 9% Cinsault, gives up classic Grenache kirsch and berry fruits, cured meats, licorice and herbs de Provence in its full-bodied, rich and layered profile. There’s a healthy dose of tannin here, so give it a year in the cellar. This was aged 14 months in 500-liter neutral barrels, and going forward, there will be more concrete aging brought to play here. As always, I had a great visit with winemaker Anthony Yount. The wines continue to go from strength to strength, and at this point, are a match for anything coming out of the west side of Paso Robles. These are high-quality wines that merit attention. Tel. The 2012 Grenache is built on gorgeous aromatic complexity and nuance. Rose petals, mint, sweet spices and anise are some of the notes that meld together in a Grenache that is long on varietal character. The sweet, perfumed finish is particularly of note. Winemaker Anthony Yount used 66% whole clusters on the 2012, which also includes dollops of Cinsault and Grenache.
