2011 Del Dotto Chardonnay Cinghiale Vineyard Family Reserve

The other cuvée of Chardonnay is called Family Reserve, which I assume is a selection of their best barrels from the Cinghiale Vineyard. The 2011 Chardonnay Family Reserve Cinghiale Vineyard is a richer cousin of its basic cuvée counterpart in 2011. Much more honeysuckle, tropical fruit, earth and roasted nuts are present in this full-bodied, powerful (14.9% alcohol) wine, which coats the palate, has great acidity, and again, offers slightly more evidence of oak than the basic cuvée. It is long, rich, and a terrific example of 2011 from the Sonoma Coast.
