Note di degustazione
Coming from the Wente clone and fermented in a mix of barrel and concrete, followed by aging in French oak, the 2017 Chardonnay UV Vineyard boasts a vivid gold color as well as a Chablis-like bouquet of crushed citrus, salty minerality, orange blossom, and a hint of earth. With brilliant balance, medium to full body, bright acidity, and a great finish, it’s a smoking good Sonoma Coast Chardonnay to drink over the coming 4-6+ years. The personal label of the up-and-coming Sam Kaplan, these Maxem releases should be snatched up by readers.

Produced from Old Wente clone selection, the 2017 Chardonnay UV Vineyard leaps from the glass with bold notions of guava, ripe peaches and green mango plus touches of beeswax, allspice and candied ginger. Medium to full bodied, the palate has fantastic intensity, with a wonderfully satiny texture and lovely freshness lifting the long finish.
