Note di degustazione
A gorgeous wine, the 2014 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard is aromatic, nuanced and super-finessed. Rose petal and sweet red berry notes make a strong first impression. Even so, the Platt is quite nervous and tightly wound at this stage. For that reason, I would prefer to cellar it for at least a few years. The purity of the flavors is striking, but readers will have to be patient. A closing blast of dark red/blue fruit, flowers and firm tannins portends a bright future.

Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2014 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard offers a pronounced nose of crushed black cherries, mulberries and baking spices, with hints of violets and roses. Medium-bodied with wonderful elegance, it has a great core of spicy red and black fruits with finely grained tannins and excellent length. 435 cases were made.
The 2014 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard is a huge, dark wine, almost unusually so. Black cherry, plum, licorice and cloves open up in the glass, but only with great reluctance. A powerful, inward wine, the 2014 is going to need quite a bit of time to come together, but it is impressive, there is no doubt about it. There is a lot of matière, as the French say, along with just a slight hint of reduction.
