Note di degustazione
The smallest production cuv e, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Element 28 is named after the owner of the vineyard, Erik Nickel, as well as nickel's place in the periodic table. From a site located in the hills above Lake Hennessey, with a warmer, west-facing exposure and gravelly loam soils, it has a beautiful nose of ripe currant and cassis-like fruit that gives way to more nuanced spice, dried flowers, tobacco, loamy earth, and even a hint of iron (which is from these vineyards on the northern side of Lake Hennessy). With medium to full-bodied richness, a supple, layered mouthfeel, ripe yet integrated tannins, and nicely balanced oak, it's another gorgeous wine from this estate that readers can enjoy any time over the coming 15-20 years.

Very compact and concentrated aromas that showcase lush black fruits, violets and mint chocolate followed by fresh sage and crushed graphite rocks. Full-bodied and creamy on the mid-palate with finely grained juicy tannins and bright acidity. Precisely framed and structured wine boasting finesse and freshness that brings harmony. Slightly chewy at the end. Give it a little time. Try after 2027.
