2019 Skipstone Cabernet Sauvignon Sofia's Vineyard

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Sofia's Vineyard was matured for 18 months in 70% new French oak. From vines planted in 1993-1994, it demands plenty of time in the glass to unfurl and is worth the wait: a core of cassis is complemented by wafts of lilac, bitter chocolate, green bell pepper, pencil shavings and coffee beans. The full-bodied palate is structurally seamless. Abundant, powdery tannins and fresh acidity structure mineral-laced flavors, and it has a long, latent finish. It will be long lived in the cellar. 175 three-bottle cases were made.
