Note di degustazione
The 2014 Chardonnay Thieriot Vineyard tastes like a Grand Cru Chablis with loads of crushed rock, oyster-shell notes, citrus oil, nectarine and a touch of honeysuckle. A cold-climate site, this tiny vineyard of 1.75 acres was planted with the Robert Young clone of Chardonnay in 1990. This full-bodied Chardonnay is an example of the complex Burgundian cool-climate Chardonnays that more and more producers are exploiting in Northern California. Drink it over the next 5-7 years, although it may last a lot longer.

The 2014 Chardonnay B. Thieriot Vineyard is the biggest of these wines but also the freshest of these Chardonnays from Rivers-Marie. Candied lemon, white flowers and apricot pit, all allied to a sense of vertical structure, make a vivid first impression. Orange peel, mint, spice and tropically-inflected notes develop later, adding considerable flamboyance to the finish.
