Note di degustazione
The 2010 Côte à Côte reveals an oak-inspired bouquet of exotic spices, cedar box, sweet herbs, clove-infused black cherries offset by a whiff of animal musk. It possesses a core of vivid red berry fruits, playing a sweet-and-sour act on the palate, as silken textures soothe and adolescent tannins build toward the close. Lively acidity maintains energy throughout, as the 2010 pinches at the cheeks with residual tension and hints of dark chocolate fade. This is in fine form, but I wonder if the oak will ever integrate.

(42% grenache, 34% syrah and 24% mourvedre; 16.1% alcohol): Opaque ruby. Strikingly complex, smoke-accented bouquet evokes blackberry, cherry, cracked pepper and potpourri. Sappy, palate-staining dark berry compote flavors are given a tangy edge by an exotic orange pith quality and exhibit refreshingly peppery, spicy cut. The floral note repeats strongly on the finish, which is sweet, broad and very persistent.
The 2010 Côte A Côte wraps around the palate with mocha, roasted coffee beans, plums, graphite and grilled herbs. Firm yet well-integrated tannins frame a long, creamy finish endowed with substantial length. The late harvest personality of the year comes through nicely in this attractive, mid-weight offering. In 2010 the blend is 42% Grenache, 34% Syrah and 24% Mourvèdre.
