The 2008 Côte à Côte is impossible to ignore, with balsamic-laced black cherries melding with dark chocolate and sage. This envelops the palate with seductively round textures and ripe red fruits elevated by a tinge of autumnal spice. Vibrant acidity maintains freshness as this tapers off incredibly fresh, long, fully resolved yet lively. This is a large-scale style of Côte à Côte, yet there's no arguing with its balance.

This estate’s straight Rhone blend, the 2008 Côte-à-Côte is a blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 20% Mourvedre. While displaying a ripe, rich personality, this has a more streamlined, classy character, with pure notes of blackberry and raspberry fruits, roasted meat, lavender, violets and hints of chocolate. Medium to full bodied with a seamless, elegant texture, solid structure, and a long finish, this should drink beautifully for a decade.

L’Aventure is one of the leading wine estates in Paso Robles, California. It was founded by Stephan Asseo and his wife Beatrice who left their native France in 1997 in search of a place to make wine without the restrictions of France’s appellation system.
