2010 Relic Pinot Noir Avion

Medium red. Dullish red color. Aromas of raspberry, wild herbs, loam and bay leaf, plus a whiff of sweet butter. Lush and sweet, with surprisingly good definition and intensity to the cool red fruit flavors. Finishes firm and persistent, with the red fruits carrying through. The flowering was protracted for pinot noir in 2010, noted Mike Hirby, and there was a lot of irregular ripening.
