(100% whole clusters): Bright ruby-red. Pungent, highly expressive scents of raspberry, blood orange, potpourri and Asian spices. Juicy, sweet and focused on the palate, with a delicate quality to its sharply delineated raspberry, orange zest and mineral flavors. Gives an impression of depth without weight and finishes with silky tannins and impressive floral persistence.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Woodruff Vineyard is another gorgeous wine from this Santa Cruz Mountans site. Savory herbs, dark cherries, plums, licorice, mint and violets are underpinned by firm mountain tannins. The Woodruff has it all; expressive aromatics, resonant fruit and the structure to drink well for a number of years. Readers who can find the 2012 should not hesitate; it is superb. The 2012 was done with 100% whole clusters and aged in neutral oak.
