2011 Del Dotto Sauvignon Blanc Cinghiale Vineyard

The 2011 Pinot Noir Cinghiale Vineyard (only 13.6% alcohol, reflecting the cooler, rain-plagued year) has a healthy dark ruby color and delicious brambleberry and black cherry fruit that surprised me in its intensity and richness. Offering silky tannins, good acidity and plenty of intensity, but on a relatively fast evolutionary track, the 2011 Pinot Noir begs for consumption over the next several years. Nevertheless, it is a beauty and a success for this vintage.
