Punteggio 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013

(100% cabernet sauvignon, from vines planted at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,500 feet): Bright medium ruby. Currant, coffee and mocha on the musky nose, along with suggestions of superripe fruits and pepper. Suave and smooth, with a currant flavor accented by a hint of leafiness. Finishes with smooth, building tannins that are nicely supported by the wine's baby fat. Already showing plenty of personality.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon GTS is endowed with serious power and depth. Graphite, crushed rocks, iron, tar and scorched earth are some of the many notes that jump from the glass in this powerful, super-extroverted wine. The 2010 is huge, savory and intense. Layers of dark fruit cover every inch of the palate as the 2010 shows off its considerable personality. This is a terrific showing.

Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has done a fabulous job with these two Cabernets from Tom and Nancy Seaver. The 2010 is just as impressive as it was from barrel, while the 2011 is a solid effort for the year. The estate is located on Diamond Mountain, about 800 feet above the valley floor. Tel. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon GTS is a hugely promising wine. It bursts from the glass with black fruit, leather and licorice. The Diamond Mountain character comes through beautifully on the explosive, intense finish. This is a great showing for the GTS. I can't wait to taste this once it is in bottle.
