Coming from a tiny terraced section of red, volcanic soils next to Peter Michael’s vineyard in the northern part of the valley, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard is another exotic, beautifully complex wine from this estate. Full-bodied, seamless, elegant, and incredibly long, it has an undeniable minerality as well as awesome notes of black cherries, blueberries, graphite, iodine, chocolate, and dusty earth. It's beautiful stuff and has a pretty, deceivingly elegant style that hides considerable underlying grip, structure, and minerality.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard captures all the pedigree of this site on Oakville's Upper Plateau. Gently floral and spiced, with striking aromatic top notes, the Weitz is beautifully layered from start to finish. This is one of the more nuanced and subtle wines in Carter's range. I loved it.
A big and juicy red showing dark-berry, plum and menthol aromas and flavors. Full bodied and very ripe with a flavorful finish. A little old-school but delicious now. Drink or hold.
Very deep purple-black in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard opens with notions of baked blackcurrants, preserved plums, blackberry compote and licorice plus touches of tar, chargrill, pan fried herbs and iron ore. Full-bodied and laden with taut, muscular fruit, it has a solid line of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with an herbal lift.
