The 2019 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard is sourced from vines planted in 1975, meaning some of the oldest Pinot vines in the Russian River. Exotic Martini clone aromatics give this mid-weight, wonderfully translucent Pinot tons of character. The Arrendell is not an obvious wine, but rather a Pinot built on understated nuance and character. Sweet red berries, mint, cedar and crushed flowers open effortlessly.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard is intricately layered and unfolds with pine, sweet smoke, and black cherry candy. The palate is full-bodied, with root beer spice and fleshy ripe fruit that fills through the mid-palate and long finish. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. A part of the Kendall-Jackson family, Hartford Court was established by Don and Jennifer Hartford, whose first vintage was 1994. They began with two vineyard designated wines, and today they have expanded to include 36 single vineyard wines, dedicated to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel. Jeff Stewart, the general manager and winemaker since 2011, and Tiaan Lordan, who has been with the estate since 2010, share the role as winemakers today.
The 2019 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1975, which have been part of the Hartford Court program since 1994. It spent 15 months in 43% new French oak and is a touch reductive to begin, opening to dark berries and kirsch with tones of mushroom, iodine and tar. The medium-bodied palate is firm and broody, with intense, earthy fruits, loads of grainy tannins, seamless acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. It's the most youthfully coiled Pinot in the lineup of Hartford's 2019s, so give it plenty of time to unwind in bottle or a long decant. 164 cases were made.
