The 2019 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard unfurls slowly on the nose, revealing red cherries, cranberries, blood orange, tobacco leaves and lavender with sleek new-oak spices. The palate is powerful and highly concentrated with earth and berry jam flavors. It has finely grained tannins, gentle undulations of fresh acidity and a long, spicy finish. It could use another 3-5 years in bottle to unwind.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard offers rich aromas of fresh leather, cola spice, and black cherry. The palate is full and has more serious structure and balance, with tannin to match all the sweet black cherry. black raspberry fruit, and wooded spice. Leave this one in the cellar for 2-4 years and drink 2025-2035.
The 2019 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle is another very approachable wine in this range from Ferren. Dark red cherry fruit, cinnamon, new leather, mocha, sweet French oak and blood orange give the 2019 a pretty upper register to play off the natural richness. This is a distinctly overt style for the coast, but it works.
