Note di degustazione
A gorgeous wine, the 2015 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard is bright and punchy, with plenty of red cherry, raspberry and floral notes pushed forward. Silky and racy in the glass, this mid-weight Zinfandel is impeccable. The Carlisle is super-finessed in 2015. As usual, the Carlisle is predominantly Zinfandel, with about 12% mixed white and black grapes (a total of 40 varieties), all co-fermented.

One of the highlights in this range, the 2015 Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley) is also a terrific introduction to the vintage at Carlisle. Pliant, rich and expressive, with tons of Dry Creek savory and mineral notes, the 2015 is wonderfully complete. Dried herbs, tobacco, licorice and dried flowers add striking nuance to this tasty, appellation-level Zinfandel from Carlisle.
The 2015 Zinfandel from Sonoma is a luscious, fruit forward, fun Zinfandel meant for consumers to taste what Zinfandel is supposed to be. It is briary and peppery, with raspberry and cherry fruit, some noticeable glycerin and alcohol (15.4%) and a heady, perfumed finish. This is a terrific bargain and a Zinfandel to drink in its first 4-5 years of life.
