Note di degustazione
The 2020 Zinfandel Benito Dusi Ranch displays classic varietal aromas of Greek yogurt, dill, ripe strawberry and hints of tobacco. The palate centers on sweet, concentrated red fruit flavors and a direct finish faintly lined with acidity and powdery grip.

The 2020 Zinfandel Paso Robles comes from the Benito Dusi Ranch in Paso Robles and is 100% varietal. Juicy red and black berry fruits, candied violets, tobacco, and subtle cigar notes define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, with some grippy, metallic tannins and a good finish. It's another wine that appears to be subtly marred by smoke. While many of these wines fall outside the “Central Coast,” I was able to taste a full lineup from Ridge and am happy to include these wines here. Going forward, the Sonoma releases will be covered by my colleague, Audrey Frick.
The 2020 Zinfandel Paso Robles, the second selection from Benito Dusi, is nicely done. It offers up an array of dark fruit, orange peel, coffee and exotic spice, all in a nervy, mid-weight style that is quite attractive. The Paso Zinfandel is not as plush as it can be, but that's the vintage. Picked early?
