Jadot’s Chablis Les Clos is once again striking for its contrasting generosity and minerality. The 2020 is a classic vintage for the site, clearly translated in this wine’s crystallised fruit and forceful profile. The nose has saline, iodine notes boosted by citrus and lime flavours – it is detailed and has a classic, assertive, mineral, reductive character adding to the complexity. The acidity brings a multi-layered dimension to the palate, it is big, rich and round with an excellent crescendo finish, while retaining beautiful freshness. This Grand Cru will benefit from five to six years’ cellaring to reveal its full potential.

The 2020 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a struck match reduction on the nose - though it is not too strong and should be subsumed with bottle age. The palate is well balanced with a tangy marmalade-tinged entry, fine depth with some well-integrated oak towards the finish. There is a sense of harmony and focus here that is very convincing.
