Overripe grapes made into a port style wine. 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. 28-29 Brix. Fermented to 11.5% alcohol which left 8-9% RS. Once fortified it ends up at 17.4%. About 100 cases made annually since 2007. Very dark crimson. Rosy nose. Round and fresh and perfumed. Fresh. Very clean. (JR)

The 2010 Vino del Sol is a little bit more floral, lifted and savory than some recent vintages. Leather, spice, tobacco, crushed flowers, mint and orange peel meld together in an attractive, medium-bodied dessert wine to drink over the next few years.
