(60% new French oak): Bright violet color. Ripe dark berry and floral aromas pick up subtle tobacco and pungent floral and herb nuances as the wine stretches out. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering appealingly sweet blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that put on weight on the back half. Youthfully tannic on the sharply focused, persistent finish, which features lingering suggestions of candied rose and mocha.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a nose of crème de cassis, plum preserves, cigar boxes, and garrique with dried herbs and sandalwood in the undercurrent. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers tons of ripe black fruits, licorice and dried herbs with a chewy frame and good balance.
Just bottled, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is another outstanding wine. Black currants, licorice, charcoal and lead pencil notes all flow to a full-bodied, silky, polished and elegant Cabernet that's a delicious drink. Like the 2015, it was aged 11 months in 60% new French oak. This estate was created in 2010 by brothers Daniel and Georges Daou, and it lies high up off Adelaida Road. Along with l’Aventure and Booker Vineyards, this estate is unquestionably leading the charge with regards to Bordeaux varieties in Paso Robles.
