1995 Domaine Joseph Roty Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru

Deep ruby-red. Perfumed, high-pitched aromas of crystallized black cherry, minerals and shoe polish, with a faint animal note. Unctuous, smooth and superconcentrated, with an amazingly tactile mouth feel and great sweetness. A real explosion of fruits in the mouth: cassis, boysenberry, blackberry, redcurrant. Again, there are plenty of underlying tannins but it's the fruit that dominates today. Both this and the Mazis are from vines planted in 1919. Extraordinary juice.
