Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières from Domaine Ballaot-Millot has a very refined bouquet with subtle granite and flint aromas, almost Chablis-like at first, but then evolving with subtle lime flower and marmalade notes that lend it personality. The palate is fresh on the entry, taut and defined, closing up on the back palate and perhaps needing more weight and density on the finish to fulfill the promise shown by the aromatics. Let's see how this ages.
