This is a well-constructed 2015 with form and brightness. Full and bright with a blackberry and blueberry and black-tea character. A delicious finish. A new wave fruit-forward red.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is, unfortunately, short, compact and lacking depth, much less any of the signatures that are so characteristic of this site. The hot, alcoholic, sweet finish is not especially enjoyable. What is the point?
Cut from the same cloth, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hooper is marginally more open and complex, and offers sensational notes of incense, crème de cassis, dried flowers, vanilla and exotic spice. Sweetly fruited, supple and incredibly sexy, with no hard edges and full-bodied richness, it’s already impossible to resist, yet is going to be even better in 3-4 years and cruise for two decades.
