2018 Domaine Georges Roumier Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru has a more austere bouquet than Roumier’s other 2018s, reserved and a touch earthier. Correct and maybe a little aloof at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins, masculine in style, broody and structured, which is surprising given that it comes from a warm microclimate. This will need some time.

Scents of cherries, raspberries, rose hips, sweet soil tones and subtle espresso roast introduce the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Combottes, a medium to full-bodied, lively and succulent wine that's deep and fleshy but nicely defined. Roumier notes that his parcel of Combottes is located in a warm and stony depression and that it's always picked quite early in the harvest.
