A debut release from the Pinot Noir portfolio is the 1999 Pinot Noir Three Colts. This comes from three young vineyards the Martinellis have planted with 2,000 vines per acre and vertical trellising. It is a powerful Pinot Noir (15.1% alcohol) exhibiting a dark ruby/purple color, sumptuous aromas and flavors of prunes, plums, root beer, cocoa, and cherry liqueur, and an opulent, lush texture. This is an outstanding, hedonistically-styled Pinot Noir to drink over the next 5-6 years. (Not yet released) Tel. (707) 525-0570; Fax (707) 525-9463

Medium red-brown color. Pungent aromas of redcurrant, faded rose, minerals, tobacco and underbrush. Juicy, spicy and oaky, with more earth and underbrush flavors than primary fruit. Has decent sweetness and texture but finishes with a slight dry edge.
Informazioni sul produttore

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
