(66% roussanne, 14% viognier, 14% petit manseng and 6% marsanne): Pale gold. Seductively perfumed aromas of quince, white peach, smoky herbs and white flowers. Taut, chewy and focused, with a silky texture to its flavors of pear skin, ginger and dried herbs. A musky peach pit note comes up on the penetrating finish, which shows very good clarity.

The 2011 White is a bit more focused than the 2010, partly because of the addition of Petit Manseng and Marsanne to the blend. Floral infused honey, nectarines, peaches and crushed rocks wrap around the long, nuanced finish. The 2011 White is 66% Roussanne, 14% Viognier, 14% Petit Manseng and 6% Marsanne.
Tasted out of tank and pure Roussanne, the 2011 Booker Vineyard White shows lots of similarities to the ’10 and carries classic pear, mineral, and floral qualities that flow to an energetic, lively, and beautifully pure palate. As with the ’10, this builds in richness as it sets in the glass, has excellent depth and concentration, and should have 2-4 years, possibly more, of prime time drinking.
