2008 Behrens Family Erna Schein Petite Sirah Kick Ranch

(15.2% alcohol; includes 10% cabernet sauvignon): Deep, saturated ruby. Black raspberry and a meaty nuance on the nose. Lush, seamless and very ripe, but with good lift to the flavors of blackberry and spices. Broad and classically dry wine, finishing with substantial, slightly drying tannins. This seems way more backward than the 2008 cabernet-based offerings under this label.
