The 2023 White Wine Compagni Portis Vineyard comes from dry-farmed Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Trousseau Gris and Roter Veltliner interplanted in 1954. Matured for five months in stainless steel and used barrels, it has an explosive perfume that owner and winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson calls “nature’s Skittles”—oodles of peach, lychee, rosewater and white pepper pour from the glass. The medium-bodied palate balances concentrated tropical fruit flavors with mouthwatering acidity, and it has a long, textural finish.
