Punteggio 90/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2017

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Ackerman vineyard in Coombsville and spent a year in French oak. It’s a gorgeous wine that has a perfumed, elegant, fresh style that makes it already hard to resist, and is very much in the style of the 2014 vintage. Notes of violets, blueberries, incense, and spice all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, ripe, opulent beauty and it’s going to age for 20 years or more.

Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2018-2034, Robert Parker, Dec 2016

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, a small production lot of 140 cases, emanates from an organic vineyard in the foothills of Coombsville. The wine has a dense ruby/purple color, a notion of earth and white chocolate, but otherwise somewhat restrained aromatics in the mouth. It is medium-bodied, shows good to excellent concentration and is not yet open or expressive, but cleanly made and has promise. It is probably best forgotten for another 2-3 years and drunk over the following 15 or more.

Bright floral and spice notes add lovely aromatic overtones to a core of plush dark fruit in Ackerman's 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon. Inky blue/purplish fruits, sweet spices, savory herbs, leather, new oak and dark chocolate are some of the notes that inform this unusually supple, racy Coombsville Cabernet.
