Incorporating 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2014 Cabernet Franc is similar in style to the 2013 and has a tight, concentrated, pure style. I love its tannin quality, and this medium to full-bodied 2014 offers loads of black/blue’ish fruits, scorched earth, graphite and violet aromas and flavors. Intense, beautifully pure and fresh, it’s a serious 2014 that’s going to keep for another 10-15 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Franc Old Vine is deep, powerful and intense. The addition of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon makes it impossible to get a sense of varietal expression, and if it is truly possible here, but the 2014 is an attractive wine if taken on its own terms.
The 2014 Cabernet Franc, which is 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, displays a similar character, and looks to be nearly as powerful, strong and complex as its older sibling. This wine should also drink well for 10-15 years.
The 2014 Cabernet Franc is nuanced and delineated throughout. Lifted, floral notes meld into a core of blue/purplish fruit. The flavors are especially vibrant in this mid-weight, attractive wine. It would be nice to see a little more Franc character, but otherwise this is a fine effort.
