Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2014-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2012

The 2009 Pinot Noir Lolita Ranch boasts a gorgeous core of dark red fruit, exotic spices, licorice, smoke and rose petals. The wine possesses tremendous density and richness in a medium to full-bodied style that is immensely appealing. This is one of the deeper, more masculine wines in the line-up. Vibrant mineral notes give the finish an extra burst of raw energy.

I tasted a wide range of wines during a recent visit. The 2008 Syrahs, from a challenging vintage, are a bit up and down, but the rest of the wines are all outstanding. As always, these are fairly bold, extroverted wines, but their overall balance is typically superb. Tel. (707) 525-0570

Bright ruby-red. Spicy red berries and cherry on the nose, with suave floral and Asian spice qualities adding complexity. Raspberry and cherry flavors are framed by dusty tannins and given a tangy edge by bitter berry skin and blood orange. Quite deep but surprisingly brisk and refreshing, with excellent closing thrust and cling.

Martinelli

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
