The 2002 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru displays licorice, black currant, and dark cherry aromas. On the palate, this medium-bodied effort reveals a satin-textured attack and mid-palate before slightly tightening in the finish. Its dark fruit flavors linger in its impressively long finish. Good deep red. Sappy, slightly liqueur-like aromas of black and red raspberry. Sweet, fresh flavors of cassis, blueberry and violet, lifted by cooler mint and licorice notes and underlying minerality. Finishes with slightly edgy tannins and very good length.
