Deep garnet-purple, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is scented of cedar chest, spice box and pencil shavings with a core of red and black currants, black plums and cracked pepper plus a waft of tilled loam. The mouth is full-bodied and laden with fruit, with firm, velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and peppery.

A nose of very intense blackberry fruit, licorice, vanilla, dust, plums and morello cherries. Verges on jammy. The palate shows lots of blackcurrant crumble, round tannins and a very fruit-forward finish. Drink now.
