The 2021 Tempranillo Ext excels with its aromatic intensity, amplifying all of its components in a heady display of dried roses, grilled herbs, stone dust, tangerine and crushed raspberries. Seductively creamy upon entry, it quickly gains tension through a core of tart red berry fruits and saline mineral tones that penetrate deeply. It’s structured and long yet keeps the palate watering for more as hints of blood orange, licorice and a pleasantly bitter sensation linger on.

Matured for 18 months in 50% new French oak, the 2021 Tempranillo is scented of sour cherries, black plums, old leather, wild fennel and iron with undertones of earth and spice. The full-bodied palate features concentrated, savory fruit framed by gently chewy tannins and energetic acidity, and it has a long, savory finish. 350 cases were made.
All varietal that spent 18 months in 50% new French oak, the 2021 Tempranillo is a terrific expression of the site offering ripe red and black fruit as well as some underlying meat, peppery, herbal nuances. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, and a great finish. I would drink bottles any time over the coming 10-12+ years.
