The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Head In The Clouds checks in as 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Petit Verdot, which is a high percentage of that variety. Fabulous blueberries and cassis-like fruit as well as ample floral, graphite, and lead pencil notes emerge from the glass, and this beautifully polished, full-bodied, elegant 2018 has a great mid-palate and silky, seamless tannins. I'm a fan, and it's another gorgeous wine from the Behrens Family. It should keep for 20 years or more as well.

The 2018 Head in the Clouds packs a serious punch. A healthy dollop of Petit Verdot brings tons of aromatic savoriness and structure to this Cabernet Sauvignon. Sage, lavender, mint, gravel, iron, espresso and inky dark fruit power through to the finish. My impression is that the 2018 is still recovering from bottling, as it is a bit tightly wound today. There is plenty to look forward to.
A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Head In The Clouds is a little youthfully shy to begin, slowly revealing scents of wild blueberries, crushed black cherries and warm cassis, plus nuances of powdered cinnamon, potpourri and cedar chest. The full-bodied palate is bursting with bright, crunchy black fruit, framed by firm, ripe tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and with wonderful purity.
