2010 Domaine Arlaud Père & Fils Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

(30% whole clusters; 60% new oak): Deep red-ruby. Very ripe aromas and flavors of blackberry, blueberry, violet, stony minerals and smoky oak. Rich, broad and sweet, with a hint of roasted herbs adding complexity to the middle palate. Surprisingly round and open-knit today but this will surely close down following the bottling. In fact, the firm tannins already shut down the wine on the broad, classically dry finish.
